CONTESTANTS ATTEMPT TO CREATE AN AD CAMPAIGN FOR THE MARQUIS JET CARD WORKING WITH PROMINENT AD AGENCY DEUTSCH INC.

Now that"The Apprentice"contestants have tackled the basics of lemonade sales, in episode two Donald Trump sends them to Madison Avenue, the heart of the advertising industry. The men’s and women’s teams are sent to the multi-billion dollar advertising agency Deutsch Inc. where Donald Trump introduces them to advertising icon Donny Deutsch. Their task—-to create a 30 second television commercial and a print ad campaign showcasing the Marquis Jet Card, a jet card that provides access to the NetJets fleet. The twist—-they have two days to do it. At the end of the task, each team must present their ideas to Donny Deutsch and his creative team. The winning team will have a lavish reward provided by Marquis Jet and NetJets and the losing team faces Trump in the climactic boardroom showdown.

The Jan. 8 premiere of"The Apprentice"scored the highest adult 18-49 rating and overall viewer total for any preview or premiere of any new television series in the past year, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. From 8:37-9:59 p.m. ET,“The Apprentice”(9.1 rating, 22 share among adults 18-49, 18.5 million viewers overall) achieved the highest new series preview/premiere numbers since the debut of"Joe Millionaire"on Jan. 6, 2003. The Jan. 8 telecast of"The Apprentice"outperformed NBC’s 18-49 time-period average this season by 47 percent (9.1 versus 6.2), generating NBC’s highest rating in the time period since premiere week. NBC Research estimates that 27.8 million viewers watched all or some of"The Apprentice"that night.
