NetJets Safety & Security

At 41,000 feet, there is absolutely nothing more important than your safety. The financial backing of Berkshire Hathaway gives NetJets an unmatched ability to pursue the best in safety, security and reliability. The Marquis Jet Card program is the only card program that gives you access to NetJets.

From the maintenance of the fleet to the training of the pilots, from FAA-licensed dispatchers to a staff of full-time FAA-approved, in-house meteorologists, NetJets Operations experts double-check every detail. The NetJets Dual-Release System provides an extra level of security for each flight by requiring that all aspects of a flight scheduled for takeoff have been checked and approved by BOTH the pilot-in-command and the FAA-licensed dispatcher.

Procedures

To ensure your security, NetJets strictly adheres to the following procedures, including but not limited to:

  • All NetJets aircraft are thoroughly inspected prior to boarding
  • All NetJets aircraft parked overnight are secured by various means to prohibit access to any part of the aircraft
  • All NetJets flight crewmembers pass pre-employment criminal and financial background checks
  • All passengers arriving at the Fixed Base Operator's (FBO's) are greeted by NetJets flight crewmembers who identify themselves with their NetJets photo identification badges
  • All passengers are required to present photo identification to the NetJets flight crew prior to being allowed to board any NetJets aircraft

NetJets is constantly working with the FBOs, local airport authorities, law enforcement officials, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), and FAA security officials to determine if additional security measures or requirements are necessary.

Weather

While NetJets has taken every safety precaution possible, the weather is one force of nature that is unfortunately out of anyone's control. NetJets has a staff of full-time meteorologists who use state-of-the-art equipment to obtain and interpret data directly from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's satellites, giving your pilots and dispatchers up-to-the-minute forecasts to make sure that weather does not interfere with your flight.

The NetJets Meteorology Department has received approval from the FAA to be an FAA source of weather for your pilots, just like an FAA Flight Service Station. There are only a handful of flight departments in the world that have this FAA approval.
